Relief efforts in Guatemala
CARE Guatemala seeks to assist women, youth, and their families to better prepare for and recover from the impact of disasters and crises caused by climate change and natural disasters.
CARE also works so that women and girls from indigenous and rural communities can fully enjoy and exercise their human rights. This means a life free of violence, free of racial and social discrimination, and full of dignified and fair working and learning conditions. By seeking to improve women’s economic empowerment, CARE aims to further equality between men and women.
CARE began working in Guatemala in 1959.
