Your Care in Action: How Your Generosity is Changing Lives

by CARE Australia - December 23, 2025

To our incredible supporters,

We wanted to take a moment to express our heartfelt gratitude for your incredible support over the past year. Because of your generosity, women and girls facing some of the world’s toughest challenges have been able to take charge of their futures—accessing education, building secure livelihoods, and leading change in their communities.

You are at the heart of this progress. Today, we want to share just a few examples of how your kindness has transformed lives across the globe.

Giving Children a Healthier Start in Bangladesh

In northern Bangladesh, mothers like Asma are rewriting the future for their children. Previously, Asma didn’t know the importance of breastfeeding with colostrum, which is crucial for building a baby’s immunity.

With support from donors like you, Asma joined a CARE program where she learned about nutrition and started visiting her local clinic for monthly check-ups. She also received support to establish a household garden to access fresh vegetables. Today, her son Araf is growing stronger every day, and Asma is confident in the knowledge she now has.

Redefining Leadership in Sierra Leone

Mabinty, a 36-year-old mother and entrepreneur in Sierra Leone, used to see leadership as a role only for men. After joining a CARE savings group, she found financial independence and the confidence to step into a new role.

Seeing that her village had only male teachers, Mabinty became the school’s first female educator. Now, she inspires children and other women to believe in themselves and lead. As Mabinty says, “I am now bold, and I am proud to stand in public and talk”.

Building Economic Freedom in Tanzania

In Tanzania, women like Yuditha are proving that there is strength in numbers. Yuditha joined a Village Savings & Loans Association supported by CARE, where neighbours pool resources to create a thriving collective business.

Together, Yuditha’s group purchased farmland and even bought a tractor, which they use and rent out to create new income opportunities. “We are now women of economic freedom,” Yuditha declares.

Your Impact by the Numbers

Your donations go further with CARE Australia. In fact, 87 cents of every dollar is spent on our life-saving work. Together, we have:

  • Supported 685,809 people across 24 countries.
  • Delivered emergency relief for 184,837 people.
  • Supported 13 humanitarian responses in 8 countries.
  • Reached 544,080 people through gender equality programming focused on women’s voice and leadership.

Thank you for standing with women and girls everywhere. Your support means so much
