Middle East Humanitarian Crisis
The conflict in the Middle East is threatening the lives and wellbeing of millions of people. Countless communities are stricken by trauma and the fear of what may come next. Across the region, people who were already struggling to survive now face repeated displacement, loss and other ripple effects of the violence. Women and girls are at particular risk.
Escalating conflict in the Middle East puts millions at risk
In many countries, our CARE colleagues and partners are mobilising responses while working under extremely challenging conditions. Our teams are preparing for further displacement, including potential refugee flows and increased numbers of internally displaced people in the countries affected by this unfolding crisis. This includes coordinated efforts with local partners to pre-position supplies and ensure that cash, food, water, shelter, and other services can be delivered rapidly as needed.
“I couldn’t sleep all night, staying awake with my two sons as the airstrikes shook our home. This morning, alongside my colleagues, I am preparing the distribution of meals, soap, shampoo, water, mattresses, and other essential items for children who are forced to sleep on the sidewalks with their mothers and fathers. Their fear, their uncertainty, their needs, it drives me to do everything I can. No child should have to face this, and no family should face this alone.”

Donations over $2 are tax deductible. Should the funds raised through an emergency appeal exceed the amount required to meet the immediate and longer term needs of the people in the affected areas, or if there are changes in circumstances beyond CARE’s control which limit its ability to utilise all funds in the affected areas, CARE will direct excess funds to other emergency relief activities in the future. Monthly donations will go to emergency relief and preparedness activities where it is needed most.
