Relief efforts in Côte-d’Ivoire
Political instability and violence in Côte d’Ivoire has forced many people to flee their homes in recent years. Today our projects include urban sanitation, peacebuilding and conflict resolution, malaria, HIV/AIDS, repairing infrastructure, microfinance, and helping people earn a living. We are also working with cocoa farmers through the Cocoa Life partnership.
CARE began working in the country in 2000, helping those displaced by civil unrest and at-risk communities gain access to food and clean water. We also address serious health issues in regions where formal health systems have crumbled.
