Nepal Flood Emergency Appeal

On 26 August, a sudden flash flood surged down the Bhote Koshi River from the Tibetan side, devastating communities in Nepal. Families have lost their homes, possessions and livelihoods.

Your support is urgently needed to help families get vital emergency assistance.

“The flooding has left affected families without homes, possessions, and livelihoods, and has raised concerns about the spread of waterborne diseases due to damaged water and sanitation infrastructure.”

 — Mona Sherpa, Country Director, CARE Nepal

Why CARE and what your gift provides

CARE Nepal is on the ground, coordinating with local partners and preparing lifesaving assistance, women, children, older people and those with disabilities who can face greater risks and barriers in the aftermath of a disaster.

Your donation today could help provide:

  • Emergency shelter
  • Food and clean water
  • Hygiene supplies
  • Dignity kits for women and girls

Should the funds raised through this emergency appeal exceed the amount required to meet the immediate and longer-term needs of people affected by the emergency, or if changing circumstances affect CARE’s ability to use the funds as originally intended, CARE will redirect funds to other emergency response activities that are consistent with CARE’s humanitarian mission.
