Walk in Her Shoes 2015

CARE’s Walk In Her Shoes Challenge is an annual event that encourages Australians to walk and raise funds to support women and girls living in poverty.

Since Walk In Her Shoes was launched in 2011, more than 12,000 Australians have joined the challenge and raised almost $2.7 million.

In 2014, for the first time participants chose how far to walk during the week:

  • 25km challenge - 5,000 steps or 45 minutes of walking a day for one week
  • 50km challenge - 10,000 steps or 90 minutes of walking a day for one week
  • 100km challenge - 20,000 steps or 3 hours of walking a day for one week

Money raised by the Walk In Her Shoes challenge supports projects that provide community gardens and clean water close to homes, which help women and girls spend more time in school and earning an income.

Our wonderful walkers all receive a pedometer to measure steps, and an online fundraising page to stay connected with other walkers and the communities we're helping.
