CARE Australia Strategy 2010 - 2015

CARE Australia's Strategy 2010 - 2015 sets out directions to strengthen our positioning, impact and effectiveness over the coming five years in the global fight against poverty and social injustice. The strategy was developed during 2009-10 with staff across departments in Australia and country offices managed by CARE Australia.

It helps to guide decisions and planning around program directions, organisational arrangements and resource allocation.

Our purpose

Drawn from CARE's vision statement, our purpose is to create a world of hope, tolerance and social justice, where poverty has been overcome and people live in dignity and security.

Our ambition

Towards that purpose, our ambition is to be the recognised leader in achieving significant, positive and sustainable impact on poverty and social injustice through the empowerment of women and their communities.

Our goals

To meet that ambition, we have set one primary goal:

Goal 1: CARE Australia delivers quality programs with demonstrated impact in reducing poverty

This will facilitated by three enabling goals:

Goal 2: CARE Australia has effective leadership and management systems

Goal 3: CARE Australia achieves significant income growth

Goal 4: CARE Australia fosters effective relationships which enhance our reach and impact, and position us as a champion for women’s empowerment
