Trusts and Foundations

How can Trusts, Foundations and Private Ancillary Funds work with CARE?

Trusts, Foundations and Private Ancillary Funds[1] provide important financial support for CARE’s work fighting poverty and bringing lasting change to some of the world’s poorest communities.

Grants made available to CARE by Trusts, Foundations and Private Ancillary Funds help to cover some or all of the operational costs of a project.

Donors may direct their funding to a specific project or to an area of particular interest to them. CARE provides detailed project proposals to potential donors to help them identify projects they wish to support. For example, donors may wish to support projects providing safe and clean water systems or education, or a project in a particular country where CARE works.

Throughout the term of the grant, donors are kept informed of the long term sustainable impact of their funding through detailed reporting and evaluation reports. Opportunities also exist for donors to visit the project they have funded.

One of CARE’s longest running projects, the Highland Community Education Project in Cambodia, has benefited from the long term support of a number of Trusts, Foundations and Private Ancillary Funds. Over the years, these donors have funded the project with a continued commitment to the improvement of literacy levels, curriculum and access to school for children in remote community schools in Cambodia.

We are happy to discuss project proposal options with potential donors at any time.
